It is no surprise from a sign ruled by Saturn that Capricorn is very much the worker of the zodiac. As with all the earth signs they like to lay down roots. They do not tend to move a lot. Even if they make their money from property, they are inclined to find a house they love and stay there while buying and selling other property. Unlike the fire or air signs who become restless, Capricorn think about the long term and not just the immediate future. They will work hard to achieve their goals.
If you meet a Capricorn in a business setting they may appear "matter of fact" much like their opposite sign of Cancer. Even though they often have a dry (and sometimes smutty) sense of humour, the workplace is not an appropriate setting to show it off. However when the work is done they can party with the best of them, just like their fellow earth signs Taurus and Virgo. If you think about it "watering the earth" could also be applied to this set of signs as they do like their nourishment.
Status can be a problem with this sign. If they don't have it then they will work hard to acquire it either for themselves or through their partner. It is sometimes said that Capricorn doesn't necessarily marry for love but status and money. In fact this is not necessarily true as these are cautious people when it comes to commitment. Many do not marry until later in life. When young there can be a certain amount of angst and pressure to attain a certain level in society but as they grow older and have what they desire, you notice they relax. It is often said that they grower younger with age! Beware the aged Capricorn who suddenly throws caution to the wind.
If you are looking for security in a relationship then Capricorn are definitely one of the best signs. However they can also be workaholics who rarely take a vacation and work late. A partner has to understand their need for work at least at the beginning. When they feel secure then they will ease off but it may not be until they are well past 50!
